SET THE TABLE WITH A NEUTRAL FALL TABLESCAPE

Set the table with a neutral fall tablescape to wow your friends or family when they come over! Due to COVID19, we haven’t been eating out as much and have entertained a couple of friends at different times. During times like these, it’s important to make the most of the situation! I’m sure it will make guests feel special to know that you put in the effort to host them well. It will also make you feel more confident as a host or hostess.

I try to provide décor suggestions that are easy to put together and can be done quickly using items I already own. The only items I bought were a few flowers from the dollar store for the centerpiece. The rest of the items are things I already own.

Select Plates

First, take a look through your kitchen and decide on what plates, napkins, and silverware you plan to use. You probably have white plates that can be easily incorporated into the tablescape. I’ve used these plates so many times before and they are simply beautiful!

Select white plates for this centerpiece. White goes with everything and is the perfect neutral color to work with!

Create The Flower Arrangement

Next, I created the centerpiece staying with the neutral color scheme. I selected cream and brown flowers and fillers. All of the flowers for this arrangement were from the dollar store! The vase is from Pottery Barn and is one of my favorites because of it’s shape and color. I am not able to find it online anymore but a similar one is available.

Given below is a list of the faux flowers I used for the arrangement.

  • Three stems of the brown sunflowers
  • Three stems cream mums
  • Three small white flowers with darker brown centers
  • Four stems of grasses in brown and gold
  • Dried small olive branches

To create the arrangement, add the heavier flowers to the center of the vase. I mixed in the light flowers with the darker ones for contrast. You can use floral foam to help secure the flowers if needed. I didn’t need it for this arrangement but it’s a good option.

Add neutral colors in darker and lighter shades to the floral centerpiece to create and eye-catching arrangement.

Set The Table

After creating the flower arrangement, use a neutral table runner for the tablescape. I used a linen hemstitch runner that goes really well with this setting. Woven placemats add a touch of rustic charm to this setting and the colors complement the vase and the runner so well. This particular one was from Pottery Barn.

Simple olive leaf accent

The matching linen hemstitch napkins work well too with a touch of green from the olive leaves. There is a huge olive tree in my backyard and I often use the leaves for decorative purposes. Any other greenery can be substituted for olive leaves. Rosemary would be a good alternate. I added pomegranates to the setting to enhance the look. Simple stainless steel cutlery finishes the place setting.

Pomegranate placesetting

It’s really simple to put together a tablescape like this! I added two faux pumpkins and a couple of pomegranates on either side of the floral centerpiece to balance things out. Let me know in the comments below if you like this tablescape?

Use unusual elements such are pomegranates to create to add interest to the tablescape.
