CREATE A SPARKLING HOLIDAY TABLESCAPE

Make your micro-parties special this holiday season. Create a sparkling holiday tablescape to welcome your guests! Even though we aren’t having big parties this year, your smaller gatherings can still be special by making a little extra effort.

For this tablescape, I selected a white, green, and silver theme. The colors are festive and elegant. The mercury glass candles and Christmas trees add sparkle to the table.

Supplies needed to create the sparkling holiday tablescape

To get started with this tablescape, you’ll need the following supplies.

  • One bunch of white spray roses – These were from Trader Joes
  • A bunch of Eucalyptus and fir (optional)
  • Mixed greens to tuck into the vases
  • Four mercury glass Christmas trees from Hobby Lobby
  • Mercury glass votives – Available on Amazon
  • Larger mercury glass candle holders – PotteryBarn
  • White plates
  • White napkins
  • White table runner
  • Cream/white tablemats
  • Glassware – Wine and water glasses
  • Silverware

If you don’t have all of these items you can always improvise and it should turn out great as long as you stick to the overall color theme.

Create the floral arrangements

First, create three small floral arrangements. I didn’t have vases that were small enough, so I just used three punch glasses that I had at home. Add the floral preservative to the vases and cut the flowers so that it fits snugly into the vases. Tuck the greenery in and add the flowers. I used a mix of pine and cedar that was available at Trader Joe’s. You can use any type of greenery or if you already have faux greenery that works too!

Setup the tablescape

Place the table runner on the table or if you prefer you could also use a tablecloth. As long as it’s white and has a muted pattern it should be fine. Put the three smaller flower arrangements in the center and add the mercury trees, candles, and greenery to complete the centerpiece. I placed one of the floral arrangements on a smaller candle stand to give it some added height.

Add the desired number of place settings depending on how many guests you plan to have. To give each place setting a special touch you could add a napkin ring with some greenery.

Not sure where to place your forks and spoons? I know it can be confusing! Take a look at this helpful link from Good Housekeeping for more information.

Light the candles and enjoy your meal! If you have a lot of dishes you may want to reduce the amount of décor you use. Alternately the dinner could be served on a counter or a sideboard so that there is more space.

I hope you have an enjoyable holiday season. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! If you liked this post you may like my post on five houseplants for the holidays.
