Living in the low desert we don’t usually see the colors change as much. Just a few hours away in Sedona Arizona, fall colors are spectacular! We took a trip to see the beautiful scenery and enjoy fall colors in the woods. As I walked through the woods, I thought of five tips to help you create a beautiful garden!
Oak Creek Canyon in Sedona is serene as it is beautiful! The fall colors make a beautiful spot even more so. This pretty scene reminds me of the importance of incorporating water into landscape design. While you cannot replicate the beauty of a babbling brook at home, incorporating a water feature into your home garden can make a big difference.
Tip #1 – Incorporate a water feature into your landscape to create a beautiful scene. The sound of water has a way of changing the atmosphere.
The yellow and orange hues are stunning in the picture above! Just like in these woods, large trees take an ordinary garden and make it extraordinary. Trees do require care and maintenance but are worth incorporating due to the many benefits.
TIP #2 – Incorporate trees into your garden to add height, interest, shade, and color.
Take a closer look at the picture above and you’ll see that the rocks and the contrasting bushes underneath the trees make this scene more beautiful. Think about ways you can add interest to your garden with unusual elements like rocks or boulders. Creating layers of color can help create interest in the garden.
TIP #3 – Add natural elements like rocks and boulders to add visual interest to your garden.
We stumbled upon these benches as we walked through the woods and it was a welcome respite. Think about the best ways to incorporate seating into your garden space.
TIP #4 – Create areas to sit and enjoy your garden. The benefit of gardening is to be able to bask in the beauty that surrounds you.
I am a firm believer in observing naturally occurring combinations in nature to style and create a beautiful garden at home. Your garden doesn’t have to be perfect and well-manicured to be beautiful. Try experimenting with different plants to create a space that you love!
Tip #5 – Take a hint from nature and allow your garden to be more natural. Everything does not have to be perfectly manicured for it to be beautiful.
I hope you enjoyed our walk in the woods and were inspired to try new things in your home garden! Let me know if any of these five tips to create a beautiful garden worked for you? If you enjoyed this post, you might like my post on wildflower inspiration for your garden.
